Why IBPS Common Entrance Exam needed
Previously, the IBPS will conduct the Entrance Exam on behalf of all the individual Banks for a very long time but due to long lengthy Recruitment Procedure this Bank Selection Process will be replaced by Common Entrance Test on the Demand/receiving mandate from the various Public sector banks in India and there is total of 19 public bank which are participating in this IBPS Recruitment process and the banks like SBI, JK-Bank stays away from this Recruitment process and they are conducting separate Exam for their Recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria for the IBPS Clerk Exam 2012
The Eligibility Criteria is approximately the same as you can see in the Previous Clerk Exam Notification 2011.The brief details is like that
Age Limit: Min 18 and Max 28 years
Educational Qualification: Graduation form a recognized university
Application Fee: Rs 350 for Gen/OBC Category and Rs 50 for Reserved category candidates.
Selection Process: Written Exam and Personal Interview.
