Union Public Service Commission has once again conducted the Geologist and Geo Scientist Common written Examination 2014 for the Group "A" Post in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines and in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources against the available vacancies. and the Notification regarding this has also been uploaded on to the official website by the Commission and the online Applications for filling up these vacancies has also been demanded before the closing date of Application. The more details related to the examination is as

Total vacancies- 265

Post offered
A) In Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines
1) Geologist- 100 vacancies
2) Geophysicist- 80 vacancies
3) Chemist- 80 vacancies.

B) Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources
1) Junior Hydro Geologists (Scientist B)- 5 vacancies

Required Eligibility Criteria for the Examination

Educational Qualification- The required Qualification for each post is as under 
a) Geologist- Master Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology.
b) Geophysicist- M.Sc in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics)
c) Chemist- M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
d) For Junior Hydro Geologists- Master Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology..
  
Age Limit-
a) For S.No A- Between 21 years to 32 years
b) For S.No B-  Between 21 years to 35 years

Examination Fee- All candidates are necessarily required to deposit Rs 200 as an application fee to the nearest branch of SBI and No fee for SC/ST/PH and Women candidates
