Guru Poornima


It is the day on which we express gratitude and respect to wards our Guru. It is Celebrated in the memory of sage Vyasa, who is known to have completed the18 puranas , the four Vedas  , the Bhagvat Gita, and the Mahabharata.Guru Poornima is also known as 'Vyasa Purnima'.This Word Derived from the Sanskrit word 'gu' meaning 'darkness' and 'ru' meaning 'remover', 'guru' means the removeral of darkness, Evil and ignorance. 

According to the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, u must consider no difference between u guru and God.Celebrations start before dawn on July 15 at the Sadhu Vaaswani Mission, as it is believed that spiritual fellings are on peak at that time. Devotees will first clean Sadhu Vaswani's samadhi as a service for their guru, and then light fires and perform 108 havans , which is a type of worship around a  fire, and repeat the Maha Mritunjaya Mantra Jaap 108 times as well. Bhajans, kirtan, satsang will be performed throughout the day, with a break for a fellowship lunch. 

The celebration will include a speech from Dada J P Vaswani. "On this auspecious day, we honour our Guru, and thank our Guru for his blessings.Guru is also the picture of God. He is the 'inner prompter', who makes us aware of the presence of God within us,” says Dada Vaswani.
